In the heart of a foggy and rural Quebec winter, Luce, a grieving mother faced with the disappearance of her son, is taken aback when three local hunters track down the alleged killer, a seemingly harmless young man. When it is proposed to her to take revenge on the latter, the spirit of the masses slowly takes possession of her tragedy as the group sinks into the forest. Les battues blurs the line between victim and persecutor in a dreamlike and anxiety-inducing thriller.

Son deuxième court-métrage, LES PETITES VICTOIRES, financé par les Conseil des Arts du Canada et du Québec, est présenté à Short Shorts Asia, Palm Springs, Fantasia, et est finaliste dans la catégorie du meilleur court-métrage de fiction aux Canadian Screen Awards de 2026.
Poursuivant son exploration du cinéma de genre avec son court métrage LE GOÛT DE TES ÉCAILLES, il présente ce nouveau projet en première à Tampere et Regard, et poursuit présentement sa tournée en festival.
Rafaël a également participé à Sundance Ignite 2023, un incubateur de soutien pour cinéastes émergents. Il travaille actuellement sur son premier long métrage, LES YEUX DE VERRE, et sur un nouveau court-métrage, RENAISSANCE, tous deux soutenus par la SODEC.
